About Us
Based in the Eastlake neighborhood of Seattle, Washington, the actual humans behind 4emphasis are Christopher Sumption and Caren Gussoff Sumption. They pride themselves on cooking up every project with love and other secret ingredients.
Christopher is our art director and operations manager. Aside from being a whiz-bang web designer, he's also a science fiction illustrator, painter, and photographer. When he isn't banging out beauty from his Wacom tablet, he likes anime, old westerns, and Slurpees. You can see Christopher's portfolio at chrissumption.com.
Caren Gussoff Sumption is our production and content manager. She accumulated her coding chops via tours of duty contracting with some of Puget Sound's most stalwart and ubiquitous companies. She's also a fiction writer, geek, and bon vivant. You can find out more about her at spitkitten.com.
Our name
4emphasis is a convoluted homage to one of Caren's favorite poets, TS Eliot. It was swiped and stylized from a line in "Whispers of Immortality," originally published in 1920.
